English for a year

So you want to speak (or write) more English, but you don’t know what to say (or write)?

Here are your prompts! Here are 54 questions to get your creative speaking (or writing) juices flowing!

How to use

Download, print out your calendar, or save the file. There is a printable A4 version, or a small version that is the same size as your smartphone screen, you can type on this one – no printing needed!

Make a weekly date in your diary, and turn on your reminders. Get into the habit of talking (or writing) regularly and you’ll soon see an improvement in your English.

Read the prompt questions. You don’t have to do them in order, and you don’t have to do them all. If you have no idea what to say or write) explain that. I don’t know is an acceptable answer, so is I’ve never thought about it before. But whatever your answer is… try to give more details.

Think about the 5Ws and 1H question. Who, what, when, where, why and How… can you use all those questions to help you answer.

You can write notes on the calendar, single words or full sentences. Use them as you wish.

Then write it or speak it. Make yourself a private (or public) Youtube channel, or Tiktok or Instagram and record yourself speaking. Write as a Facebook status, an Instagram photo, a WhatsApp message.

Or keep it private to yourself.

Keep a record. Don’t delete them. When you revisit them in the future notice how much you’ve improved.

Have fun!
